Tune In Tuesday to ASI Radio’s 5-Year Anniversary Celebration

The industry’s first and only radio program hits major milestone

TREVOSE, PA – July 1, 2013 – The Advertising Specialty Institute® (ASI) is commemorating the fifth anniversary of ASI Radio on Tuesday with a milestone show featuring a special preview of Counselor magazine’s “State of the Industry” report along with the most informative, innovative on-air content in the promotional products industry.

ASI Radio debuted in 2008 with the same five co-hosts still livening up the airwaves Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m. ET.

“In an era of repurposed and repackaged content, ASI Radio consistently delivers original business insight, breaking news and the most authoritative research and resources available,” said Timothy M. Andrews, president and chief executive officer of ASI. “Week in and week out, the program reaffirms ASI’s commitment to providing world-class content to suppliers, distributors and the general industry community. Whether we’re producing it live on the air or through streaming podcasts, print or in person, ASI has it covered.”

During Tuesday’s show, special guest host Tim Andrews will give listeners a sneak peek at the upcoming Counselor “State of the Industry” issue along with an advance of ASI’s Global Advertising Specialties Impressions Study. In addition, the hosts will celebrate with cake and champagne, along with prizes for correct answers to call-in trivia questions.

Every week, ASI Radio covers a broad range of industry-specific and general interest topics useful to suppliers and distributors along with the latest sales and marketing trends and tips. Each show also features an industry news recap by Counselor® Editor Andy Cohen, a product safety minute and a list of each host’s favorite promo product, also available online, complete with images and descriptions.

Celebrity guest interviews have included nearly every ASI Show® keynote speaker, from actor and activist Michael J. Fox and former First Lady Laura Bush to economist Steve Forbes and Twitter co-founder Biz Stone. In coming months, a number of celebrities – including stars from the popular ABC reality show “Shark Tank” – will appear as guests in advance of their appearance as 2014 keynote speakers.

Along with useful business tips and strategies, the on-air hosts capture the industry’s often zany personality, complete with robust debate, clever banter and out-of-the-box thinking.

Each host brings something valuable to the on-air table: Joe Haley, the host of “The Joe Show,” covers new products; Advantages® Editor Kathy Huston tackles distributor sales; Cohen provides business analysis, SGR® Editor Michele Bell reports on the supplier side while ringleader and Editor-in-Chief Melinda Ligos keeps the show moving and the topics flying.

Recent subjects include Zappos’ impact on customer service, ways to measure ROI for clients, creative summer self-promotions and tips for shaving operating costs.

The show has also put more emphasis on helping ASI members use social media to their best advantage, along with accepting listener questions posted online to ASI’s Facebook page along with email and on-air call-ins.

Archives of previous shows and featured interviews are available at www.asicentral.com/radio. Log on at 10:30 a.m. ET Tuesday to listen to the show – and call in questions, comments or trivia answers at (215) 953-4979.
