The ASI Show in San Diego Delivers Again

Industry excited about 2013 move to Long Beach

TREVOSE, PAApril 4, 2012The ASI Show strikes gold in San Diego with another successful event, attracting just over 2,000 distributor attendees and 335 suppliers.

In addition to an energized show floor and engaging education sessions, ASI San Diego featured an inspiring keynote by actor and activist Michael J. Fox. During this standing-room-only event that attracted nearly 500 attendees, Michael shared remarkable personal lessons from his life with Parkinson’s disease.

Throughout the show, which took place Monday, April 2, through Wednesday, April 4, at the San Diego Convention Center, suppliers and distributors enjoyed quality time together on the show floor and during dozens of networking opportunities.

“We’re so excited to be here in San Diego,” said Rick Greene from HALO Branded Solutions, asi/356000. “This is just a great show. In the first four rows I walked, I found two important apparel resources that I need for a huge project. Having access to the show floor is amazing.”

“We always look forward to The ASI Shows because they give us a chance to interact with distributors and discuss specific projects,” said Glenn Hersh from Admints and Zagabor, asi/31516. “The ASI Show in San Diego is a great forum to enhance our customer relationships with clients and prospects. Our booth has been full of good, quality distributors.”

On the heels of another great event for 2012, The ASI Show has announced a change in venue for next year. After many requests from ASI suppliers and distributors to find a more convenient and cost-effective venue, ASI’s West Coast event will be moved to the Long Beach Convention Center in 2013 and beyond. Featuring ASI education, exhibits and a full roster of networking and special events, ASI Long Beach will open on Saturday, March 23, 2013.

“We are thrilled that our attendees will be able to save $500 per person annually by relocating our event to Long Beach,” said Lorenz Hassenstein, vice president and general manager of The ASI Show. “Hotel rooms on average cost $50 less per night, and flights into Long Beach are 50% cheaper as compared with traveling to San Diego.”

“It has been an exciting week,” added Timothy M. Andrews, president and chief executive officer of ASI. “The San Diego show has been full of energy with outstanding supplier and distributor participation. This enthusiasm grew even stronger with the announcement of our relocation. Of the 4,313 distributors we serve on the West Coast, 61% are located in the greater Los Angeles area. Central to three airports, the Long Beach Convention Center is easily accessible from all major thoroughfares.”

“The strategic timing of next year’s event puts ASI Long Beach months away from other industry events taking place in the greater Los Angeles area,” said Karen DiTomasso, vice president of sales for The ASI Show. “With a nearly full floor plan already in place, ASI Long Beach 2013 is expected to sell out before summer.”

The remaining two 2012 ASI Shows are ASI New York (May 8-10) and ASI Chicago (July 17-19). ASI distributor and decorator members can register for free at www.asishow.com.
