ASI’s Online Learning Center Gets A+ Upgrade

Free, user-friendly education now features bonus resource tools and social media sharing

TREVOSE, PA – November 21, 2013 – The Advertising Specialty Institute® (ASI) today announced a major upgrade to its Online Learning Center, designed to help distributors, suppliers, decorators and screen printers easily access more free classes, additional resource tools and new social media sharing.

“ASI’s newly launched Online Learning Center delivers the latest in learning technology to the growing number of professionals who require fast, easy access to an industry-specific curriculum that’s available when they want it and wherever they’re located,” said Timothy M. Andrews, president and chief executive officer of ASI. “We’re continually upgrading our education offerings to keep pace with demand and to make sure small business leaders and company presidents alike have the latest business-building information at their fingertips.”

To date, 1,151 professionals have been certified through the ASI Education Certification Program, with nearly 30,000 enrolled in ASI’s free Online Learning Center. ASI annually invests $1.3 million to educate its members. During the 2013 ASI Show® season, 6,131 industry professionals attended live education classes, making ASI the largest educator in the industry.

ASI’s new Online Learning Center platform features:

  • Super-intuitive user interface. A superior user experience is available through a customizable home page with movable widgets, such as an events calendar, RSS feeds, polls, etc.
  • Social learning. Post photos and videos, join or start discussion boards and “friend” other learners to view and share material, questions and opinions.
  • Added content. Includes ASI research reports, magazine articles and other resources.

“The ASI Education Team and I are thrilled to offer our 30,000 members working toward their ASI certification a whole new learning experience via this upgraded Online Learning Center platform,” said Nicole Rollender, ASI’s executive director of professional development. “We really focused on the user experience, making the interface very intuitive and customizable. We also included key new social learning capabilities, such as the ability for industry pros to interact with other learners on discussion boards and ‘tweet’ within the education portal.”

ASI’s Online Learning Center houses more than 350 on-demand courses in a variety of educational tracks, such as sales, marketing, wearables and decorating, which are free to members and tracked automatically. Courses range from introductory to executive level, making them ideal for both newcomers and industry veterans.

The ASI Certification Program offers two certification levels: BASI™ (Bachelor of Advertising Specialty Information) and MASI™ (Master of Advertising Specialty Information). The certification program also accepts courses completed at major industry events or regional association conferences.

In addition, ASI offers a number of live webinars annually that allow members to get educated on timely topics, such as the latest in social media and product safety, and to interact with instructors. “The best part is that the majority of the classes can be taken online and at your own pace,” said Anthony Bartolone, sales manager for Premier Sales and Marketing who achieved his BASI certification. “I’ve learned more in my BASI classes than I have in my four years of working in the industry.”
