ASI Provides Savings with UPS Ocean Freight

Suppliers can save thousands annually on overseas shipping

TREVOSE, PAJanuary 4, 2010 – The Advertising Specialty Institute today announced suppliers can now save between $3,000-$10,000 annually on shipping ocean freight with UPS.

The UPS Ocean Freight program provides ASI supplier members with a full array of global freight and transportation solutions for almost any size shipment.  The program covers everything including less-than-container loads, full-container loads, special equipment, and oversized cargo.

UPS provides significant savings for all members and medium-to-large importers will realize the largest savings with the new program due to their large volume.

“These days, suppliers need every edge possible and we’re happy to provide companies with an exclusive shipping savings program tailored to meet all their shipping needs at special rates not available anywhere else,” said Timothy M. Andrews, president and chief executive officer of ASI.  “UPS is a world-class supply chain and transportation leader, with over 100 years of proven service, which is exactly what companies need to help them maneuver complex regulations.”

Members taking advantage of savings through UPS Ocean Freight can continue to use their own broker.  In addition, UPS is the perfect partner for ASI helping members meet new International Shipping Federation (ISF) requirements for all importers, which go into effect on Tuesday, January 26, 2010.

ASI has provided the UPS savings program since 2004 to help members save thousands of dollars each year with exclusive shipping discounts.  Programs with UPS join more than 12 other affiliate programs from ASI, providing savings on:

  • Credit card processing
  • Digital artwork services
  • Office supplies at OfficeMax®,
  • Email marketing
  • Group health insurance options

UPS representatives will be at the ASI Show in Orlando on Monday, January 4, and Tuesday, January 5, to discuss the new benefits and to help members avoid non-compliance with the ISF requirements, which can lead to delays in their supply chain.
