Obituary: Don Miller, Parker Pen

Don Miller, a former national sales manager at Parker Pen, died on Friday, October 24, following an extended illness.

Don Miller, a former national sales manager at Parker Pen, died on Friday, October 24, following an extended illness. He was 91.

A Janesville, WI, native, Miller was a World War II veteran who flew with the 8th Air Force, 44th Bomb Group. Miller returned home from war and attended Milton College and the University of Wisconsin. He later worked at Parker Pen for 40 years, serving in a variety of roles from manufacturing to marketing to sales.

Outside of work, Miller was a family man who also enjoyed gardening, pen collecting, and speaking at many colleges about sales and marketing strategies. He was very active in many organizations like the Janesville Jaycees, Janesville Lions Club, VFW Post 1621, Janesville Moose Lodge, Janesville Boys Baseball Club and several trade associations.

Don was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Ione. He is survived by his children Bonnie, Don, Jr., Taffy, Pixie, Judy, Jim, Bob and Beth, along with 12 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson. Services for Miller were held this morning at the Graveside at Town of Rock Cemetery in Afton, WI.
