Fans Can Now Purchase Official Canadian World Cup Merchandise

Canada has qualified for the FIFA World Cup for the first time in 36 years, and new branded items celebrate the achievement.

The men’s national soccer team in Canada has qualified for the FIFA World Cup for the first time since 1986, and fans can now commemorate the milestone with new official Canadian soccer branded merchandise.

After Les Rouges’ 4-0 win over Jamaica on Sunday, March 27, at BMO Field in Toronto, the team qualified to head to Qatar for the World Cup in November and December of this year. T-shirts and jerseys, some still on pre-order, are of course part of the merch mix celebrating the achievement.

Canada t-shirts

This Nike Dri-Fit T-shirt commemorates Canada’s historic qualification for the World Cup in Qatar later this year. The “Oui” (in homage to the country’s bilingual culture) features the names of team members. Available in a women’s companion piece.

Fans can also snag zip or drawstring backpacks, glassware, can coolers, signage, flags, throw blankets and headwear. The items are available at canadasoccerstore.com, with fulfillment by e-commerce company Fanatics.

Canada World Cup soccer hat, black & red

Featuring a structured fit, this children’s Nike cap has an embroidered logo.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau weighed in on the historic win.

Head coach John Herdman has been at the helm for the past four years. Under his leadership, the Canadian team has risen to 33rd in the world, the highest ranking in the Canadian men’s team history. “I told these boys right at the beginning, we’ve got to give this country something to believe in,” said Herdman. “We’re a football country now and they all know it.”

Currently, Canada is at the top of the leaderboard in the Confederation of North, Central America and Caribbean Association Football (CONCACAF), ahead of the U.S. and Mexico, and has officially secured a spot on the World Cup roster. Those two countries, plus Costa Rica, are now vying for two additional World Cup spots as part of CONCACAF, one of FIFA’s six continental governing bodies.

Canada World Cup soccer scarf

This 60-inch jacquard scarf has a knitted logo and double-sided design.

It’s certainly a rallying moment for Canadians; millions there have endured some of the world’s longest COVID lockdowns, particularly in Ontario. Officials across the country have announced large-scale lifts of vaccine and mask mandates and capacity limits in recent weeks.

It’s also the latest sales opportunity for high-profile athletic merchandise. Ralph Lauren and Nike released official Team USA Olympics merch in January and the Cleveland Guardians, the MLB team formerly known as the Indians, unveiled official items in the same month. There’s also been recent discussion as to how the NCAA’s Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) initiative – stipulating that college athletes will now be able to profit off their name and likeness on branded items – will impact the promo products and licensed merchandise industries.
